Let’s make the unification of Korean Peninsula by peace, not weapons

The headquarter of the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) in Korea announced a statement of ‘Urging for the Peace Agreement for the Cessation of War on the Korean Peninsula’ on November 3rd 11 a.m.

IWPG stated that the result of the 10 million signing will be delivered to the parties of Armistice Agreement: United Nations, China, North Korea and the government of Korea. The Armistice Agreement for the long lasting war between South and North will abrogate and settle fundamental base for ‘Peace Agreement’ on Korean Peninsula.

『Urging Statement of concluding Cessation of War, Peace Agreement in The Korean Peninsula』

(Corp.) International Women's Peace Group is urging as stated below for you to join in campaigns of 'Concluding Cessation of War, Peace Agreement in the Korean Peninsula' and 'Ten Million Signature Campaign' wishing 018 Pyeongchang winter Olympics recorded in world history as a Peace Olympics which is coming up in 50 days.

IWPG is strongly denouncing nuclear provocation of North Korea.

North Korea has threatened and provoked the world by 6th nuclear test and ballistic missile test. By those tests, the Korean Peninsula became an explosive storage.

IWPG is strongly opposing production and proliferation of nuclear weapon which threatens world peace and also denouncing armed provocation of North Korea which threatens peace in not only Korean Peninsula but also the world.

The war in Korean Peninsula has to be ended ASAP.

After Korean War in 1950, North Korea and South Korea who is same race are pointing guns to each other up to now caused by a ceasefire agreement among UN(United States), North Korea and China on July 27, 1953.

We need to hand down united nation to future generations.

Are you not ashamed in front of ancestors and future generations that we are the only one nation in the world which is divided in half for the longest time (for 65 years)? 

If you are the leader who loves your country and people, in order to hand down united nation to future generations, the leaders have to come ASAP to the table of forum to make an agreement on cessation of war and peaceful unification in Korean peninsula. 

IWPG is urging peace treaty through conference of South Korea, North Korea, United States and China.

From 1974, North Korea has tried to make peace treaty with United States excluding South Korea.

In 1997, the representatives of South Korea, North Korea, United States and China which were involved in Korean War had 4-way-conference to conclude peace agreement. However, it was not successful.

For this matter, IWPG is strongly urging those countries (South Korea, North Korea, United States and China) to have 4-way-conference abolishing ceasefire agreement and making agreement of peace treaty ASAP.

Through peace treaty, if we eliminate destructive weapons including nuclear bomb in Korean Peninsula, have people to reunite with separated families from war and accomplish nongovernmental exchanges for the starter, we can overcome differences in culture caused by division for long time and peaceful unification will become reality in no time.
